Welcome to Zoar Lutheran Church
Visiting any church for the very first time can be confusing. We want to put you at ease. Your first visit to Zoar Lutheran will be refreshing, friendly, and enjoyable for your whole family. We want you to experience inspiring music, helpful teaching, friendly people, and a place where you can feel welcome and know this is a place where all are welcome to Gather, Grow, and Give. Here are a few frequently asked questions:
When are your worship services?
Join us at one of our worship services offered every week, with each lasting about an hour:
Saturday – 6 p.m.
Sunday – 8:30 a.m., and 11 a.m. 11 a.m. worship service is streamed on Facebook live.
Holy Communion is celebrated at all services.
Where is Zoar Lutheran Church located?
314 East Indiana Avenue
Perrysburg, Ohio 43551
What can I expect during my first visit?
Our worship services are designed to include God-honoring music and biblically-based teaching that is relevant to your daily life. The service lasts a little under an hour. Holy Communion is celebrated at all services. Energized by Jesus, Zoar Lutheran is committed to its core values of Faith, Love, Spirituality, Family, and Mission.
What should I wear?
You may be most comfortable dressed in “business casual.” However, don’t worry about what you wear. We won’t. All are welcome and we’ll just be glad you came to join us. At Zoar Lutheran, we are most concerned, as Jesus is, about the condition of the inner person. Therefore, external appearance, though important, is not our primary concern.
Will I be asked to do anything?
Please be at ease! We will not ask you to participate in any of our service functions with which you are uncomfortable, whether it is to stand while singing, participate in Holy Communion, etc. Although an offering plate is passed during the service for our church family to participate in as the Lord leads, no one ever expects our guests to feel any obligation to give. Our only desire is that you are as comfortable as possible as our guest and free to observe first-hand worship at Zoar Lutheran.
Where can I take my children?
Starting with the babies, there is something special for every child. At every service there are safe, clean, and staffed nurseries for children three years old and under.
For children four years old through fifth grade there is fun, friendly, and Bible-centered JAM Time (Jesus and Me) to which children are dismissed during the 11 a.m. worship service. The lessons are related to the week’s lectionary and sermon. This children’s worship is staffed with friendly and well-qualified teachers and helpers who will make church exciting and memorable for your child.
There is also a cry room for young children. It is located in the left rear corner of the sanctuary with a window for viewing the service.
