We are here to help.
Pastors Tim and Mike, Pastoral Intern Todd Milner and Diaconal Minister Carole Bohn are available to visit Zoar Lutheran members and friends who are hospitalized, facing or recovering from surgery, or who are in nursing and assisted care facilities. Anyone who desires a pastoral visit should contact the church office. Due to the large membership of our congregation, many members who have long-term health concerns or who are homebound are visited by one of our Companions. For more information on Companions, contact Pam Nickel, one of the pastors, or the church office. Those who are recently discharged from the hospital and are rehabbing in a facility are often visited by Zoar Lutheran members and retired nurse Gloria Murphy. Again, you can contact the office to ask for a visit from Gloria or any of those mentioned above.
Companions is Zoar’s pastoral care ministry for members of our church who are homebound or living in nursing homes and who are unable to be present with us in worship. More than 30 people serve as Companions, visiting one or two homebound members each month for fellowship and prayer and if appropriate, to share Holy Communion. Companions are provided appropriate instruction to lead prayer and are commissioned as Eucharistic Ministers, taking the sacrament from the worship service to the homebound member. With more than 40 homebound members, additional Companions are always welcome. If you are interested in becoming a Companion or would like more information on this ministry, contact Companions Coordinator Pam Nickel.
A dedicated group of Zoar Lutheran members engages in regular intercessory prayer for those members and friends of Zoar who desire such prayers. All information is kept confidential by the members of the Prayer Partners Ministry and is not shared with anyone outside the group. If you would like to add someone to the prayer list, please call the church office.
If you would like to become a part of the Prayer Partners Ministry group, contact Carole Bohn. Or just come to our next meeting. We meet on the third Saturday of each month at 10 am in the conference room.
