Sunday School Registration – NOW OPEN!

It is with great joy and hope that we can officially announce the opening of Sunday School Registration for the 2021-2022 School Year. As we look ahead to fall we are cautiously optimistic about returning to in-person Sunday School. More information about safety procedures and expectations for our kids is to come as we near our return.

FALL COVID-19 PROCEDURES – Sunday School & JAM Time

As we prepare for fall events, we remain aware that the current COVID-19 situation continues to evolve rapidly. We will continue to monitor this as we hope to re-enter classes this fall. Outlined below is the current contingency plan for Sunday School and JAM time according to the new CDC recommendations and decisions previously made by Church Council, the Back Again Committee and Life Long Learning Committee:

Sunday School and JAM should proceed as follows when Wood and/or Lucas County can be categorized by the following CDC transmission levels:

·      Moderate (Yellow): Sunday School and JAM Time will open as normal with mandatory mask use in all areas with children’s or youth ministry, no snack.

·      Substantial (Orange): PK-4th Grade Sunday School and JAM Time will move to the FLC. Masks will be mandatory for ALL with the ability to better socially distance. Please note (3rd-4th) may also use the basement area occasionally to better differentiate curriculum and to socially distance. 5-12th Grade will remain on 3rd floor. The largest group of 3rd floor participants will use the current 7/8th grade Sunday School Room/Youth Room to allow for more space/social distancing (this will be determined by registrations closer to rally day). No snacks.

·      High (Red): Sunday School will return to Zoom only (No JAM Time).

In both Moderate and Substantial Stages, a check in table (located in the welcome area) will be used for parents to both drop off and pick up their children vs. taking them to their classrooms or into the FLC. This will help us to limit the amount of people in small areas and to limit extra chances of exposure.  Assigned leaders will then help the kids get where they need to go for class and for pickup.

As we have all learned in the past year and a half, things can change very fast. We ask that you be flexible with us as we work to provide safe ways to walk together in Christ this fall. We will continue to put the safety of the most vulnerable, including our youth and children, first. To sign up for Sunday School please see the link below!
